I believe your ancestry is typical of many Afghans as well people in Ladakh/Kashmir in India
a couple of things… there really is no such thing as a "typical Indian look." generally (but not always) there is a north/south gradient with northern Indians (& Pakistanis) having more West/Central Asian ancestry & southern Indians having more South/Southeast Asian ancestry. the North will "generally" be lighter complected while the south will be darker complected. because of India's location, there is also East Asian ancestry. India is not a genotypically homogenous society. while the admixtures that comprise the genomes of the Indian subcontinent are "generally" much older, the "typical Indian" is going to have a mixture of ancestries much like, say, the "typical Mexican." this mix results in a range of phenotypes that people consider a "typical" look, even though it is actually a mixture of genes.
I have noticed that quite a lot of people who are from the southern part of India also have 3-4% Melanesia, so I suppose, in your case you could tie those two together. It must have been very interesting for you to receive these results. I wonder how it has impacted your life since then.
She is not Nepali and Mongolian race . She is indian or Bangladeshi because she is black in color. Mongolian Nepali are white
Such a dope video! I'm Indian American and I made a DNA video also. Thumbs up!
I HAVE ALOT OF NEPALISE FRIENDS AND THEY LOOK EAST ASIAN BUT I SEEN ON INDIAN DNA STATITICS EVEN NEPALIS HAVE HIGHER SOUTH ASIAN DNA THEN YOU 20% IS EXTREMILY LOW I KNOW OF MIDDLE EASTERN OR EAST AFRICANS WHO HAVE HIGHER SOUTH ASIAN DNA THEN YOU
IM FROM BANGLADESH YOUR DNA IS NOT BENGALI ITS MOST LIKELY CENTRAL ASIAN LIKE KAZAKSTAN BENGALIS ARE LIKE GENERALLY 85% SOUTH ASIAN OR ABOVE YOU HAVE A VERY LOW SOUTH ASIAN ANCESTORY EVEN NORTH EAQAST INDIANS WHO LOOK EAST ASIAN HAVE A HIGHER SOUTH ASIAN ANCESTORY THEN YOU
You most likely are from bengal or Assam as they have a lot of East Asian ancestry
Basically one of your parents was central Asian (turkic) and the other was south Asian
Upload your results onto http://WWW.GEDMATCH.COM and you can find even more relatives. It is free.
You could be from northeast india like assam the people there have high east asian admixture
Just 2 weeks, wow
I thought you were South American. Nice results.
I thought that South Asian would be at the top.
Oh wow! Very cool results. I’ve never seen anything like yours before
You might be of Mughal heritage- they originated in Central Asia. The rest might be from Andra Pradesh- Hyderabad.
I'm 21% South Asian! I'm also 2% Central Asian, <1% East Asian, and <1% Melanesian. The rest of me is white lol!
I'd thought that you would ve at least 1/4 European. Pretty lady- It's hard to believe that your mother gave you away…
Pretty
?? Don't worry that central South and East Asia that all were Hindu nations but changed in 400-500 years ago if u don't believe read history of East Asia and even the Afghanistan and Pakistan but with arrival of Arabs in 700 AD they started converting religions of people YOU ARE 100% INDIAN ??
nah u indian 100%
You look Indian
Interesting results, I too have Melanesian and south Asian, my parents are Mexican. I never would have guessed.
You are 100% very beautiful.
Awesome!
You do look more Bangladeshi than indian i guess that would explain the east asian dna mix.
Very interesting results. Looking at your results, It seems one of your parent is from somewhere in NE India(Nagaland,Mizoram ect.) and the other is from Central Asia(Kazakhstan,Uzbekstan ect). Just by looking your face, I thought you would be half Indian and half east Asian or Nepalese, but your Asia South was lower than expected, only 20%. I think gedmatch.com could help you. One of your parents could be from Chittagong hill tracts of Bangladesh as well, there lives some ethnic minority of Tibeto Burman origin, similar to people from NE India. Share your gedmatch results, once its ready 🙂
You definitely seem to have East/SE Asian influence in your phenotype/looks it appears! Seems as if you have Northeast-Indian/Nepali roots of some sort I would imagine. Upload your raw data onto http://www.myheritage.comhttp://www.dna.landhttp://www.gedmatch.comhttp://www.wegene.com/en to find out more. You can also email your raw data to Dr Doug McDonald from the University of Illinois for a free BGA analysis here: mcdonald@scs.uiuc.edu …You are very pretty btw! 🙂
Possibly Nepalese in your mix. You have high % of East Asian in there, too.
Communicate with your DNA relatives, too and see what background they have and know. Also upload your results to GEDMatch.
20% of south asian + 33% of Asian east could mean 53% Indian. The North Eastern states of India are not essentially "south asian". India straddles the middle east / Iran on the west (if you include Pakistan in the general region) and south china and south east asia in the East. So it is not unlikely that you have a mix of the two. Burma is indicated in the asia east region, it is literally the neighbouring country. So India (the country) is a mix of south Asia DNA and East Asia even without stepping out of the country.
I have only recently gotten interested in this subject out of curiousity for my own ancestry and thus saw a lot of such videos. Saw a few Indian people who got a small percentage of "Melanesia" in their reports as well. These were people who were absolute 99% and above on the other group. So that is interesting and unusual but has come up with some regularity for sure.
That probably means one parent is Indian from the eastern parts of india, the other is from Central Asia. Interesting, and it must feel a little weird. Hang in there!
You look Nepali. Some Tibetian surely.
thats no wonder north- eastindians have mongolian features, so you may be from seven-sisters or nepal, benga;
your dna sounds australian 😉
Just a heads up there are many Indians that look east Asians. Darjeeling, Bengal or Nepal (used to be part of india) are just a few examples. There is this mix of South Asian and east Asian in india.
find any family from 4th cousins and closer ?
You have the highest Central Asia percentage ( 44%) after Mongolian girl from Mongolia who scored 85% Central Asia ( on YouTube DNA tests videos).
Never seen an Indian with results like this
Where actually were your biological parents from? Must have had a Mongolian/Tibetan parent and North East Indian parent
That was incredibly fascinating. You are a gorgeous mix. When I fist saw you I had every mix going through my head like India, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, Peru, I just couldn't put my finger on it. I hope the test gave you insight into what makes you, you. And that you are proud. You are very beautiful and the DNA that makes you is just so beautiful too.
Your results were absolutely fascinating! Thank you for sharing. I strongly suspect you have one East Asian grandparent. I have never seen Indian AncestryDNA results with East Asian at such a high proportion.
